Thank you to all the citizens who braved the blizzard and voted on March 14th. We are so appreciative of the community’s continued support of our public education in Fremont, with the passage of the FY18 operating budget. The FEA contract was also accepted by the voters, to which we extend our gratitude. This contract is good for our teachers, good for our students, and good for our community!
The re-election of Angela O’Connell to the School Board keeps our board without any vacancies, but full of experience. We all look forward to continuing to work hard toward our strategic plan goals. As always, we welcome the input of all residents and welcome you to join us at our monthly public meetings (schedule available under the “Meeting Schedule” tab) or watch the broadcast on CTV22. All public minutes are also available in print under the “Minutes” tab.
Our Superintendent Search Committee continues the task of screening candidates. Thank you to everyone who has participated up to this point in the process. We hope you will stay engaged as the next round of finalists moves forward. We want to hear all voices when making the selection of our next district leadership.
As we move into the last trimester of the school year, we will be receiving updates on student progress (as a whole school), curriculum changes/improvements, year-end budget reporting, and finalizing upgrades/repairs to the physical plant. Preparations are already underway for our incoming Pre-Schoolers and Kindergarteners in the fall!
Ellis is buzzing with positive activity, exciting student learning, family engagement, professional staff and great administrative leadership. We recognize the important role each person plays in making our school strong and successful for the youth in Fremont!
