Destination Imagination promotes patience, creativity, flexibility, persistence, time management, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), the arts and service learning. Teams develop solutions to challenges and then highlight those solutions at a tournament.

Age and Grade: Currently 7th and 8th grade. Members are selected by teacher recommendation.
Typical Activities: Teams work together to solve one of seven challenges presented by DI. This involves structure building, story writing, prop design and building, technical engineering, acting, and many other creative processes. Teams also work together to solve Instant Challenges. Instant Challenges are challenges presented to the team with no prior knowledge. Teams must work within a given time-frame to accomplish a task.
