Fremont School Board Announces New Superintendent
It is with great excitement, that the School Board announces Allyn Hutton has been selected as the incoming Superintendent of SAU 83.
Ms. Hutton comes to us with 40 years of education background, most recently serving as the Superintendent of Schools in Kittery, Maine for the past seven years. While there, she has led the district in many exciting initiatives focused on improving student learning and supporting excellence in teaching. Some examples include the development of a comprehensive teacher evaluation system to support quality teaching, implementation of a Proficiency Based system K-12 to increase student learning, and the expansion of student support systems to ensure learning for all learners.
Previous to her work in Kittery, Ms. Hutton served as a teacher, athletic director, assistant principal and principal in two school systems in Maine (Sacopee Valley and Falmouth). In each of these positions, Allyn was seen as an exceptional leader who engaged students, parents, staff and community members as partners in the educational process. She was honored as the Maine Principal of the Year in 2007. Her leadership approach involving problem solving, collaborative decision making and honest, open communication have been the key to her success in public education.
The School Board would like to thank the nine members of the Superintendent Search Committee for their dedication and time in bringing forward such qualified candidates.
The Board looks forward to welcoming Ms, Hutton in the coming months and having her assume her leadership duties in July.

Ellis School Adequacy Site Visit
SAU 83 has received the results of the Ellis School adequacy site visit made by the NHDOE in October 2016. It is attached below including a letter from our outgoing Commissioner, Dr. Virginia Barry.
Here are a few particular notes of thanks for the quality results of the visitation...one to Principal Andrew Haas and Assistant Brigid Connelly who had to put together a visitation schedule so quickly after starting in their new positions in July. Also, to Ms. Lyn Healy for being the catalyst for the work on "I can" statements over the past several years... To all of the Ellis staff who have put in time developing these statements and doing other work moving us ever closer to a more cohesive and sequential educational experience for our kids, and to the Fremont School Board for supporting this and the many other efforts to raise the quality of education at Ellis School.
